Experience the freedom of flexible or off-grid living, by using LPG fuel solutions. At Copper, we can supply smaller homes, or homes with low power usage with LPG solutions to power stoves, heaters and many other appliances, remotely.
Whilst the majority of UK homeowners utilise mains gas supplies to fuel their central heating systems, a small minority, who are unconnected to the mains gas grid, may need to seek out alternative sources of gas for their appliances.
A popular alternative gas supply, if mains gas connection is not available, is liquid petroleum gas (LPG) which can be used to fuel conventional gas heating systems, alongside a whole host of other gas powered appliances. The main difference being, that LPG needs to be delivered to your property and stored onsite in a tank, or purchased by the bottle, in comparison to mains gas which is pumped directly into properties, on demand.
LPG supply tanks can be installed at a property above or below ground, depending on space, and then linked through to a gas boiler and central heating system; by law, this must be installed and connected by a certified Gas Safe LPG registered engineer, only. The costs of LPG usage can vary, the price per kWh is certainly cheaper than electric, but more expensive than mains gas supply. Though mains gas is certainly the cheapest gas supply option on the market, for those that are not connected to the grid, LPG options certainly come in at a reliable, close second.
LPG is clean burning, and produces less carbon emissions than other popular fuels used by off-grid heated homes, such as oil and coal. Furthermore, in the event of a spillage, LPG won’t cause contamination or pollution to water, or the local environment; and compared to the alternative off-grid option of heating by electricity, utilising and LPG fuelled system will save a lot of money in the long term.
